How do I place an offer at auction?

You should arrive at the auction shortly before the scheduled time, register with your I.D. and guarantee deposit (cashier’s check or certified check); you will then receive a receipt and a paddle, which you must raise each time you wish to place a bid.

May I make an offer under the reserve price?

The minimum price the vendor is prepared to accept for an asset is specified as the “reserve price”; this means you cannot bid below that price.

How do I know if I won the auction or not?

If you participate by e-mail, CARASA will advise you by e-mail of the result when the auction closes. The e-mail will give you details on how to pay for the item and the place and time for delivery; otherwise, if you attend the auction, the auctioneer will let you know if your bid is the winner.

How do I pay for the item I purchased?

When you registered, you submitted a guarantee deposit, which is taken as initial payment and there is a time period set by the vendor for you to pay the balance at the bank.

How do I know the amount of the guarantee deposit and the deadline for paying for the item I purchased?

For every auction, there is a document detailing the terms and conditions of participation which indicates the deadlines, the amount of the guarantee deposit and how many lots the deposit covers.

Who pays the shipping charges?

Charges arising from transfers of an asset purchased at auction are the buyer’s responsibility.

What happens if a buyer wants to back out of his bid?

The guarantee deposit is not reimbursed, and a record is kept which will be taken into consideration in future; for this reason, possible buyers are asked to carefully consider any bids before placing them.
